Gwenhoel

La forme brittonique serait en vieux breton Uuinhoetl, de uuin, "blanc ; béni" et hoetl "âgé, durée de la vie".

De son nom gallois Gwynhoedl, ce saint était l'un des fils du roi Seithenin dont le territoire, Maes Gwyddno, est aujourd'hui sous les eaux de la baie d'Aberteifi (Cardigan Bay). Il avait pour frères Tunoù (gallois Tudno), Merin et Tudclyd.
